It may not be as good as the new-age titles but it’s certainly no longer living in the past. But if you want to jump into it once again, this time with better and more refined graphics, you won’t regret it. For those who have already played these games there’s nothing new and spectacular that’s going to blow your mind. Character models, shadows, weather, and lighting effects are also visibly better.Įven without a multiplayer component here it’s hard to dismiss the value of the Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Trees and bushes are more textured, and the vegetation and environments are more realistic. A remaster of the classic first-person shooter, Crysis Remastered features the action-packed gameplay, sandbox world and epic battles of the original blockbuster title's single player campaign. Everything from the buildings, to vehicles, to your very own Nanosuit, are more detailed. Nonetheless, each of the games in this remastered trilogy showcases a new and improved graphical prowess than when the games were originally released. Crysis 2 is better than the original and Crysis 3 sees even more improvement. The biggest differences between the games are in the facial animations and close-up shots. The graphics get better as the series moves on but the original game looks really good as well. Crysis 2 adds some different types of weaponry, and then Crysis 3 builds on this by adding more Ceph weapons and the iconic Predator Bow. The original features your typical list of guns – shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles – and some grenades. All of these improvements allow for more fun and fluid gameplay.Īnd then there’s the growing list of weapons available as the series plays on. And the Nanosuit visor offers scouting abilities to mark enemies and areas of interest. Even Nanovision is more sophisticated in Crysis 2 and 3, featuring thermal technology instead of night vision. Crysis 2 and 3 feature much-needed Nanosuit upgrades and additional customizable options that are tuned to the different environments, offering more strategic options and creating more badass opportunities to take out the enemies. Longtime fans may be left disappointed with a somewhat better console port.Crysis relies on the stealth option of the Nanosuit armor isn’t all that realistic of a choice, despite the freedom and open sandbox environment which puts its players in a box strategically. Anyone who missed out on Crysis the first time around may have a good time despite not receiving the full original game. But, lacking the well received multiplayer, the Ascension chapter and Warhead expansion means that it doesn’t feel like a complete package. VerdictĬrysis’ single player campaign remains one of the greatest shooters of all time, but it feels somewhat dated. Those who want to play Crysis Remastered with the original’s nanosuit control scheme can enable that in the settings, though. This means that pressing the sprint key automatically allows players to use Speed Mode at the cost of energy and holding the spacebar grants the Strength Mode jump while armor and camo are given separate buttons. However, similar to the Xbox 360 and PS3 ports, the default controls are similar to Crysis 2. An impressive amount of creativity is made possible by the suit’s ability to transition between Speed Mode, Strength Mode, Stealth Mode and Armor Mode.
